i-LEARN (Integrating Lived Experience Applied Research Nationally)

Sessions:

i-LEARN is a three part virtual learning studio that introduces people with an interest in Integrated Lived-Experience Applied Research Nationally to practices, processes and the implementation of a framework to support mental health translation research.

There are three learning objectives for Module 1:

  1. Understand the core foundations of lived-experience applied research models and the approaches across different settings and contexts
  2. Become familiar with ‘a starter kit’ to develop principles of research practices appropriate to context
  3. Introduce an integrated lived-experience applied research framework to support mental health research translation across contexts.

  • Ethical issues in integrated lived-experience research practice
  • Interactive and self-paced learning
  • Mature Models – ACACIA, Co-design Living Labs, Consumer Led Research Network, Northern Territory Lived Experience Network, Debakarn Koorliny Wangkiny Co-design and Co-Research with Elders and Young People
  • What happens when it does go wrong
  • First stage principles for implementation of an integrated lived-experience applied research framework for translation

The forum offers a place for dialogue and exchange for lived-experience researchers engaged in mental health research.

Membership includes lived-experience researchers in community organisations or governments working on mental health research projects and people with lived-experience who may partner with researchers for co-design or co-production research so that they connect with others.

It’s a supportive forum to share experiences, grow networks, and to talk about skills and training needs that people might benefit from, including building lived-expertise as an evidence base.
